As Tamil Nadu state board published HSC result, students will be started searching for colleges based on their marks. Anna University counselling (TNEA) is the gate way for most of the students for their bright future. The TNEA counselling is totally based on the TNEA rank. The applicants will be called to the TNEA counselling based on the TNEA rank only.

Your rank will be calculated mainly based on the student’s cut off score in the 12th examination mark and also based on the following factors

  • 12th Cut off Mark
  • Date of Birth
  • Community
  • Random Number

There is much chance for your cut off mark to match with thousands of students. If your cut off mark is equal with other students then your maths subject mark will be considered. The high scorer will get the preference then others. In case if your maths mark is also equals to other students then your physics mark will be considered. If it also equal and same then your fourth optional subject like Computer science, biology mark will be considered.

If all the above are same then your date of birth will be taken in to consideration. The elder student will get the higher priority. In some case two students may have the same date of birth in this case their random number will be taken into consideration. Based on these factors the cut off mark will be generated through the automated system.
